Details

Bulk gunpowder green tea is a famous Chinese green tea variety, renowned for its unique appearance and rich flavor. The tea leaves are rolled into small, tightly packed pellets, which helps preserve the freshness and flavor of the tea.

Origin

Wuyuan, the origin of bulk gunpowder green tea, covers a total area of 2967 square kilometers with fertile soil. The terrain slopes from northeast to southwest, with the highest peak reaching 1629.8 meters above sea level. It is renowned as the core production area of China's Green Tea Golden Triangle. The county boasts a forest coverage rate of 82.6%. Tea plants, subtropical crops, thrive in Wuyuan's climate characterized by warmth, humidity, and fog preference, with specific requirements for temperature, water, and sunlight. The region's average annual temperature of over 15 degrees Celsius, which is ideal for tea growing. Wuyuan's mild climate, abundant rainfall, short frost period, and distinct four seasons contribute to an average annual temperature of 16.7 degrees Celsius and a diurnal temperature difference of 9-10 degrees Celsius, which greatly benefits the accumulation of tea plant solids and the formation of aromatic substances. The pristine environment of Wuyuan, with its humid air and abundant water, effectively modifies light properties and enhances photosynthetic efficiency, producing high-quality tea leaves.

Brewing method

When preparing bulk gunpowder green tea, we should consider the amount of tea used, the water temperature, and the steeping time. For green tea, we recommend steeping it in heated water for 2 to 3 minutes, at a temperature of about 170 to 180 degrees Fahrenheit, at which point small bubbles will form. For best flavor, use fresh water. Not to soak it for too long will cause a bitter taste. If you prefer a stronger brew, you can put in more tea instead of extending the steeping time. Finally, don't forget, you can re-steep the tea leaves to fully enjoy their flavor!
